Thank you to all 70+ racers that took part in Saturdays' Night Slalom, we enjoyed the kind weather and slope conditions (wet) in a race that produced some close battles to the end with the fastest of three runs. The race served as a great warm up for on oncoming summer season of races starting 10th May at Welwyn. The results are as follows:-

1st January 2014, the Club volunteers and staff welcomed over 180 members and visitors for a wet afternoon on the slopes. A very busy start resulted in queues at the front desk and boot fitting benches but everyone got out onto the slope and some very positive feed back was heard from the visitors. The boot fitters kept calm under pressure and thanks go to David, Jamie, Kevin, Andy and Ed. As always a huge thank you to the ski and board instructors who took the taster sessions and managed the main slope. Roy and Sarah from the trainee group took some tasters and thanks also to Alex who brilliantly handled the Kindergarten sessions.
Sarah Walker said "This was my first go on skis and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I could feel the calories falling away"
Ed Bellamy who turned up to ski but ended up boot fitting for most of the afternoon said it was "a fantastic afternoon".
The bar was very busy with hot chocolate mountains to be enjoyed and a complete sell out of all the cakes and sausage rolls. Thanks to the bar staff for keeping the refreshments flowing, to the office staff who handled all the enquiries and bookings, and to the maintenance staff who were ready to spring into action if needed.
A great start to 2014.

Norfolk Ski Race team retain Summer League...
After a summer season of good weather, the final race of the season saw the heavens open in Brentwood. The, albeit seasonal, inclement weather didn’t rain on Norfolk’s parade or dampen their spirits as the ski race team left Brentwood as Summer League champions again.
