POMA LIFT OUT OF ACTION

Unfortunately due to unforseen circumstances the POMA lift will be out of action for the next few weeks.  We are doing all we can to ensure it is working again as quickly as possible.  

Access to the main slope, fun park, waves and moguls is still available via the travelators.

Easter changes to timetable

No junior club on the 12th and 19th April, junior open practice from 10am to 2pm instead. Good Friday 18th April, no wannabes pole ssession, open practice instead. On Sunday 20th April, no race training, no open practice  until 2pm, no adult supervised session. All other sessions will run as usual.

Instructor Training Applications

If you would like to train to become a dry slope ski instructor please apply in writing to the Instructor Committee via the club office. Those invited to attend the selection evening will need to be available on Tuesday 22nd April where assessors will look at your ski ability, communication skills and previous committment to the club. People who can teach during the day are particularly welcome. Those selected must be able to commit to Tuesday evenings throughout the first year of training. Application closing date is 15th April and you are welcome to ask Deborah or Tessa at the club office if you have any queries.

Please remember if you progressed to Eagles to note your instructions (for assessment) as given out on Saturday after your race.

Freestyle and Curry Night

Our monthly Freestyle Night will be held on 5th April and for this month, its even better, we have a curry night too!!! The session will run from 6:30-9:30pm at a cost of £6ph (£5ph for under 12s) or £12 for the whole night (£10 for under 12s) and then food will be served upstairs so please come down and bring all of your friends, even if they're not freestylers - should be a good night for everybody!!



Night Slalom Results!

Thank you to all 70+ racers that took part in Saturdays' Night Slalom, we enjoyed the kind weather and slope conditions (wet) in a race that produced some close battles to the end with the fastest of three runs.  The race served as a great warm up for on oncoming summer season of races starting 10th May at Welwyn. Day one’s action kicked off today at Norfolk Snowsports Club, in Trowse, with over 60 youngsters competing in the skiing from various School Sports Partnerships around the county. A big thank you to Janet and Bernie for their help as well as all the Norfolk crew who made it happen. 

David English

Many Club members may already be aware of the sad news that David English, a member and former instructor at the Club, suffered a fatal skiing accident in Switzerland earlier this month. David was a passionate skier and always keen to explore and learn more. For those who wish to attend, the funeral will be at Earlham Crematorium at 3pm on Tuesday 11th March and afterwards at Caistor Hall, Caistor St Edmund. Donations to Medecins Sans Frontieres can be sent to RB Copping, Funeral Directors or given at the Crematorum.
