This year we jumped at the chance of supporting Organ Donation Week in lighting up the slope pink, along with other key features in Norwich: the Forum, Norwich Castle and the Cathedral.
We also offered the NHS staff from the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital a staff night – they have definitely earnt it!
Tubing, Tex Mex, Pink Cocktails and a chance to let their hair down and have some fun was on the agenda; we’re pretty sure we delivered!!
The aim of the week is to to raise awareness.
- Even though there is now an ‘opt in’ system, your family will always be involved before an organ donation goes ahead
- If your family aren’t aware of your wishes, they can override your decision
- One organ donor can save or transform up to nine lives
- Talk to your loved ones and leave them certain of your decisions
