GOVERNANCE

Changes to the Club's Governance

At the Club’s AGM in September 2026, members approved a change to how the Club is governed.

In short: This won’t change your experience as a member, or your voice in the Club. The change is about having a clear and effective structure behind the scenes.

The current Executive Committee will be replaced by two groups, each with a distinct focus.

Board of Directors

The board will provide overall governance and oversight of the Club, including strategy, compliance, financial oversight and risk management. Its job is to make sure the Club stays well run and sustainable for the future.

Members Committee

The Members Committee will focus on the member experience and the wider life of the Club. It will be the place for members to share ideas, raise issues and help shape the social, sporting and community side of the Club.

Day-to-day running of the Club
The General Manager and staff team will continue to manage the Club day to day, working within the direction and oversight set by the Board.

Instructors and Coaches Committee (ICC)
The ICC will continue to give our instructors and coaches a dedicated voice, representing their views on coaching and instruction.

What does this mean for members?

Having the right people focused on the right areas means members can get involved in ways that suit their skills and interests, whether that’s strategic oversight and risk management, or shaping the social and sporting life of the Club.

The aim is simple: a Club that stays strong, well governed and viable for many years to come, with members continuing to have a meaningful say in its future.
