Since April the race team and wannabe racers have been travelling across the Eastern Counties to compete
at the 6 ski slopes that make up the ERSA (Eastern Region Ski Association) Summer League.
The format of the competitions is an individual slalom and dual slalom, team events, when the competitors race head to head down parallel slalom courses. For both events competitors race in age groups with points awarded to the individual and club for their finish position. The awarded points are added up throughout the season and used to determine both individual Age Group Champions and Champion Club.
The league races are now complete and it’s fantastic to be able to report that, Norfolk Snowsports Club is yet again not only the Champion Club, but has swept the board winning all of the team events, produced a finisher in the top 3 in virtually every category, with the winner in a majority!
Many thanks to all of the parents who have been dutifully transporting our competitors to the events, over 70 to some and helping make the year such a success.
Still some exciting racing to go, with the All England Championship at Norfolk, ERSA Champs, the TRI regional event and finally the Club Champs (and fireworks) to round off the summer seasons racing.
Anyone who is interested in trying their hand at racing are welcome to our coached sessions at Friday Wannabes, or if you want to avoid the competitive youngsters, perhaps have a try with the not quite so young at Masters.
Reception can give you all the details or put you in contact with a coach if you would prefer to have a chat before you strap your skis on.
