NSC hosted a fantastic weekend of skiing for the All England Dry Slope Championships 2017. Saturday saw the individual slalom event and the race team were well represented with some great skiing but a few unfortunate DNFs and DSQs. However, good podium results with Megan Skipper first U18 and third overall, Hannah Burroughs second U18 and Melissa Sampson first in Masters 1 ladies. Alex Ogden and Travis Parker came second and third respectively in U14 boys, Fantastic seeing TJ Baldwin back on the Norfolk slope and to see him win the overall All England men’s championship.
Sunday saw the Inter-Club and Open team events, with members of the race team making up three teams, Norfolk A (Matt Wigmore, Megan Skipper, Charlie Howe and Logan Sewell), Norfolk B (Jamie Gomez-Clarke, Hannah Burroughs, Ollie Steward and Joseph Thompson) and Norfolk Open (Alex Ogden, Isabel Lincoln, Abby Holmes and Rowan Warsop) – great skiing by all but no podiums this time – although TJ Baldwin (whose ski career started on the Norfolk slope) was back on form winning the Open event with his team “Double Dating”
