Norfolk Snowsports Club Hosts the
All England Alpine Championships this Weekend
Snowsport England’s All England Championships took place this weekend at Norfolk Snowsports Club.
The 44th Championships marks the culmination of the National Series of dry slope competitions this season,
with 173 top seeded competitors from all over the British Isles taking part.
This prestigious National Championship race event, features the very best of the UK’s racers skiing technically challenging slalom courses,
creating a nail biting event and fantastic experiences for both competitors and spectators.
Norfolk Snowsports Club’s Race Team athletes all performed admirably and podiumed, with:
Lloyd Jenkins, Chief of Championships and Chair of Snowsports England’s Alpine Committee said
“It’s always a pleasure to come to Norfolk to hold large race events and there is no better venue for hosting the All England Championships”.
On Sunday, the Club’s Race Team entered teams into the dual slalom Head to Head event,
to race against teams from around the UK.
During an exciting and competitive day all the Norfolk teams performed fantastically and qualified for the afternoon knockout stages
with one of them finishing 2nd in the Open Category.
At the award ceremony it was also confirmed that combined results over the season ended with Norfolk Ski Race Team
finishing 2nd place overall in the National Race series.
David Beckett of the coaching team stated that the fantastic results reflects in all the hard work and dedication of the coaches,
support of the parents, Club and of course the racers themselves.
