Sadly John Blackman passed away on Sunday 19th March.
John was one of the Club’s dedicated volunteers who 10 years ago regularly helped to lay new matting and assisted with the annual slope clean. John also trained as an instructor and gave his time during the day with school groups.
John’s enthusiasm for skiing never diminished – until very recently he could be found on the slope for open practice followed by a coffee with his ski buddies. John also never failed to remind the Club staff if he thought the slope wasn’t up to scratch.
Volunteers such as John are to be valued and the Club wouldn’t be in the position it is without his time and effort.
John leaves his wife Rosemary, children and grandchildren including Sara who many of you will know from the Club reception.
John was a great character and keen skier and will be missed by all who knew him.
