Junior Club takes summer break - but its far from over!
Posted July 12th, 2010 by Junior Club
Now that Junior Club has broken up for Summer I thought I would highlight a few things that are going on at the Club during the holidays, so if you are staying at home and at a loss of what to do, here are a few ideas :)
The first thing to mention: on Saturday 31st July we are holding a Junior Club Freestyle Event, in preparation for the Farmers Jam at the end of August; it will be an evening of Fun Park, Ramps and small jumps with Snowboarders joining in too and we would also like to invite parents that can ski to have a go. The whole session will cost £5.50. We are hoping to get a few of the Freestyle Instructors involved to enable people who are interested in attending future Freestyle nights to be signed off to ski those nights and for the Farmers Jam. If you are interested please contact Reception.
From Monday 9th to Thursday 12th August we have the Junior Club GO FASTER Camp; there are still places left for booking. If you are interested in all four days or just one or two of them you will find a booking form here the website or in reception. It is a great week, the children and the Instructors have a fun time, doing lots of different skiing activities as well as off the slope activities. It is definitely good value for money.
The Farmers Jam is from the evening of Friday 27th August to Sunday 29th August with more details coming soon. It is a fantastic freestyle event for boarders and skiers, with lots of goodies to win and some awesome big tricks to be thrown. Even if you are not taking part it is definitely an event to come and watch with live music, trade stands, bar and bbq to keep all entertained along with some of the best skiers and boarders this country has to offer.
For a completely different aspect of skiing, the All England Race Weekend is taking part during the weekend of the 4th and 5th September, there will be the top racers from all over the country here competing at speed down the slope for a place on the podium. Well worth a trip to see it.
And on the weekend of 11th and 12th September the club are hosting the Soul Sports event, this is where the race world and the freestyle world meet! With the Ski/board cross and the slope style events. As with all these events it is well worth a watch, the ski/board cross sessions are very much on the edge of your seat occasions, especially if you are related to a member taking part.
Open Practice on Saturdays for Parents and Junior Club members to ski on 17th and 24th July from 10am til 2pm, 31st July to 21st August incl. from 10am til 12noon. All parents or siblings of Junior Club must be signed off for Open Practice. And then we will be RESTARTING Junior Club on Saturday 11th September, normal times resuming.
Happy Summer Hols, wherever you may be.
Sally
