Top freestyle skiers from all over the UK and Europe converged on London’s Olympia Metro Ski Show at the Weekend to take part in the final of the prestigious London Ride. The event showcases the latest freestyle skiing tricks with the best of British riders battling it out against some of Europe’s top pros.

Riders of all ages qualified through a series of competitions held throughout the country, with only the elite going through to the London final. Local Norfolk Freestyle Skier Tom Coe, sponsored by Line skis, was part of this privileged selection.

The event was almost called off due to several accidents earlier in the week. Most notably Josh Fawcett, who broke both wrists and his elbow the day before. But after a lengthy safety briefing it was decided the show must go on.
The set up consisted of a 50ft high kicker where the riders were to pull off their most stylish tricks with only a small steep landing area and limited run off to contend with. The competitors only had 3 runs each to impress the judges and the 3000 strong crowd.

The competitors did not disappoint. Throwing down a range of tricks from flat spins 540’s, switch 720’s, corked 900’s and a crowd pleasing assortment of flips.
The British youngsters held their own against the overseas visitors making a clean 1-2-3 sweep on the podium, with Murray Buchan from Scotland taking the $1000 prize purse.
